The mission of CIVITAS ELEVATE is to advance the CIVITAS community to a higher level of knowledge, exchange, impact and sustainability, while guaranteeing essential high-quality support. CIVITAS is one of the flagship programmes helping the European Commission achieve its ambitious mobility and transport goals, and in turn those in the European Green Deal. It does this by acting as a network of cities, for cities, dedicated to sustainable urban mobility. Through peer exchange, networking and training, CIVITAS fosters political commitment and boosts collective expertise, equipping cities to put mobility at the centre of decarbonisation. Within the project BUAS is responsible to setup an Educational Network of universities active in the field of urban mobility, aimed at connecting institutions, researchers and professors for the roll out of activities in the domains of student exchange, knowledge exchange and the creation of joint master`s programmes. Another major focus for BUAS is bringing “fresh brains” into the CIVITAS network. It is actively organizing diverse student activities such as hackathons, tactical urbanism events and Mobility Powered by the Youth Conference.
Next to it, BUAS is organising mobility incubation workshops, assists local CIVINETS (local CIVITAS networks), contributes to the development of the Topic guides.
