The Urban Mobility Days 2023 conference was held in Seville, Spain. The conference drew in over 800 participants from across Europe and beyond, both on-site and remotely, and it provided an opportunity for exchange, insights and new discoveries in the field of sustainable urban mobility. Part of the Urban Mobility Days 2023, was the physical meeting of the CIVITAS Educational Network.

The network marked its two-year anniversary since its initiation with a physical meeting on 4 October. The meeting was attended by educational institutes, already members of the network, institutes interested in joining the network, and other organisation representatives interested in collaborating with the network.

As a leader of Task 7.3, WP7 within CIVITAS MUSE (exploitation of CIVITAS Educational Network), BUas was represented by Dr. Nina Nesterova (Chair CIVITAS Educational Network), Ekaterina Uzunova (Project Manager CIVITAS MUSE - BUAS), Don Guikink and Tariq van Rooijen. Nina Nesterova held a presentation about the (future) activities of the Civitas Educational Network and the added value these kinds of networks (see enclosed video as from minute 54.30).

The meeting began with a discussion on the network status and planned activities for the period 2023-2027, followed by a review of the planned youth activities. This was complemented by a brainstorming session with all attendees regarding future collaboration opportunities which can be facilitated by joint efforts from member institutes. Some of the discussed ideas included support with curriculum development, facilitation of Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), summer schools, field trips and guest lectures, and development of innovative teaching tools and methods. The importance of increasing the network visibility through various communication channels was further stressed as a crucial step in engaging more institutes following a presentation by Isabel Fróes (Assistant Professor, Copenhagen Business School (CBS); steering group member, CIVITAS Educational Network) on the network communication & visibility.

CIVITAS Educational Network will proceed with a new set of priorities for the period of the current CIVITAS Coordination and Support Action - CIVITAS MUSE (2023-2027). This new beginning was marked during UMD 2023 and efforts will continue with the development of a new look of the network webpage.
